With the Buntes Duo, Double Check provides us with the perfect framework for actively promoting young people’s cultural participation. On the one hand, by viewing and experiencing art; on the other, by getting hands-on themselves, inspired by the respective exhibition at Kunstraum Dornbirn. We learn a great deal from one another!
From September 2025 to July 2026, Kunstraum Dornbirn, Class 3a of Mittelschule Dornbirn Markt and Atelier Pinguin at Halle 5 joined forces. The educational programme focuses on the experience and creation of art. Two formats are used under this theme: guided tours and workshops.
Action tour with art educator Christa Bohle at Kunstraum Dornbirn
Kunstraum Dornbirn presents three exhibitions a year featuring contemporary visual artists. These always consist of large-scale sculptures and installations created specifically for the venue. The exhibition space is a discovery in itself: We display the art in an unrenovated former assembly hall dating from 1893 in Dornbirn’s Stadtgarten, opposite inatura. The hall itself tells a story; combined with art, it becomes a very exciting experience that is different with every exhibition.

In the workshops, the pupils get to design, experiment and create for themselves. Halle 5 provides dedicated spaces for various themed workshops, the content of which is developed and personally led by the artists Matthias Bildstein and Manuel Lunardi. Website Halle 5
Double Check and the Bunte Duo
“As part of the Bunte Duo initiative, one educational institution and one cultural institution work together continuously in a one- to two-year partnership, thereby facilitating access to each other’s spheres of activity. The aim is to encourage and establish long-term, sustainable relationships between educational and cultural institutions.”
We are very grateful for the unbureaucratic and valuable collaboration with Double Check, which provides such important impetus for cultural education.
