Karla Black's new work in the historic assembly hall of the Kunstraum Dornbirn is dense, pastel-coloured and inviting. The Scottish artist has created a landscape that invites you to wander, marvel and enjoy. Using everyday materials, some of which are unusual for art, she is able to create a space-filling combination of material, form and colour whose exhilarating experience appeals to all the senses. For Dornbirn, she has created a sculptural ensemble that is unique in terms of its size, which enters into a poetic interplay with the dimensions and the special lighting situation of the monumental hall.
