Dreamers Trilogy

Curators: Thomas Häusle, Gerald Matt

The Iranian-born and New York-based internationally renowned artist Shirin Neshat has addressed herself for decades to the social and political situation in her homeland, with a special focus on the status of women in Islamic societies. At the same time, she has treated the contradictions and tensions between the Orient and the Occident, taking up issues such as censorship, violence, war and oppression. Her work has received many awards and has been presented at venues ranging from the Venice Biennale to the Kassel Documenta.

Kunstraum Dornbirn will present three videos from her current series of works:

Illusions & Mirrors, 2013
